I am delighted to welcome you, as Headteacher, to St Alban’s Catholic Voluntary Academy – proudly part of the St Ralph Sherwin Catholic Multi Academy Trust.
Our Trust allows us to join together, collaborating and sharing expertise and resources, with 19 other primary schools and 5 secondary schools in the Diocese of Nottingham located in Derbyshire, Derby City, Staffordshire and Stockport into a single Catholic Multi Academy Trust.
Welcome Video
At St Alban’s, we aim to help children develop in their journey of faith in a positive learning environment by ‘Learning, Loving and Living together, side by side with God.’ Our vision, Character Behaviours and values clearly highlight the emphasis we place on Catholic community, spirituality and faith. We believe that every member of our school community should be given the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the development of every child and society as a whole.
At St Alban’s Catholic Voluntary Academy, we believe that our focus on the wellbeing and welfare of the whole child and their family, alongside our curriculum, will allow them to grow as unique, independent and confident individuals and enable them to make a valuable contribution to their community.
We aim to help children develop in their journey of learning knowledge, acquiring skills and growing faith in a positive, diverse and inclusive learning environment, and exceptional curriculum. We place particular emphasis on four key drivers within our curriculum, including: Possibilities, Environment, Diversity and Communication.
We work hard, as a community, to connect our homes, school and parish. We believe these links are vital in creating supportive groups for and with each other, in order to enable strong foundations for success. We value the contribution to school life that parents make and the support offered by Father David and the parishioners of St Alban’s Catholic Church. Together, we ensure that St Alban’s Catholic Voluntary Academy remains a very special place, where every individual has the chance to reach their full potential.
St Alban’s Catholic Voluntary Academy is a loving, caring and welcoming community, where staff, parents, pupils and our connections with the parish of St Alban’s creates an environment where children develop their many talents, their academic ability and their social skills.
We are looking forward to seeing you at our academy soon.
