Termly Reports and Pupil Progress Consultations

Throughout the year, we aim to keep you informed about your child’s progress through a series of structured opportunities:

  • Term 1 – Meet the Teacher: An opportunity to get to know your child’s teacher and gain an overview of the year ahead.
  • Term 2 – Open Classroom/Book Look: A chance to see your child’s work and discuss their achievements with them at home.
  • Term 3 – Pupil Progress Report and Consultation: A detailed report on your child’s progress, followed by a focused consultation with the teacher to discuss the report and set targets for the term.
  • Term 4 – Open Classroom/Book Look: Another opportunity to review your child’s work and celebrate their progress.
  • Term 5 – Pupil Progress Report and Consultation: A second detailed report and consultation to reflect on achievements and plan for the final term.
  • Term 6 – Open Classroom/Book Look: A third opportunity to review your child’s work and celebrate their progress. End of Year Report: A comprehensive summary of your child’s year, with an optional discussion for those who would like to explore the report further.

Why We Structure It This Way

Our approach ensures that pupil progress reports are immediately followed by consultations, allowing for focused, meaningful discussions. By scheduling these at the start of a term, everyone – pupils, parents, and teachers – is clear on the targets and priorities for the coming term. This avoids any loss of momentum and maximises the impact of our partnership in supporting your child’s success.

Supporting Pupils with SEND

For pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), we provide additional consultations in Terms 1, 3, and 5. These are specifically designed to work collaboratively with parents to help our most vulnerable pupils achieve their full potential.
